This video very moving.

My generation is near the last that will remember how life was before digital life overtook the world. I purchased a family computer in 1999, a clunky HP desktop with AOL dialup service which was all the rage and placed it in the middle of our dining room to “keep an eye on the kids” using it. Little did I know in 2000 I would meet my second husband living in England, I in the USA and re-marry in 2001. Such meetings were still rarely heard of and in infancy still online.

Flash forward to 2014. I agree with the author of this Spoken Word film. Maybe without the internet people would go back to talking to one another again in person. It isn’t nice at all on a birthday and Mother’s Day to “get a text” as it is receiving a card or phone call.

Look Up’ is a lesson taught to us through a love story, in a world where we continue to find ways to make it easier for us to connect with one another, but always results in us spending more time alone.
